Love Travels Imports, Anahata Yoga Open in Grandmont Rosedale

Two new pop-up businesses, a yoga studio and a Retail Store, join Grand River business community.

Products from Love Travels Imports Two new pop-up businesses are now open and welcoming customers in the historic Grandmont Rosedale neighborhood: Love Travels Imports, a social enterprise of fair trade and handmade artisan wares, and Anahata Yoga studio.
Love Travels Imports, owned by Yvette Jenkins, features fair trade items such as jewelry from Ethopia, silk scarves from Madagascar and hand-hooked bags from South Africa. Its mission is to help women in economically depressed areas around the world earn a viable living as they create beautiful items that create joy. Its address is 19120 Grand River.
Anahata Yoga is owned by Regina Ward and Nicole A. Martin and offers Hatha yoga, the foundation of all physical yoga, seven days a week. Its address is 19560 Grand River.
Both were selected in August by the Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation and Detroit Economic Development Corporation's REVOLVE program to create new pop-up shops on Grand River Avenue.
With the support of a Growing Communities grant from Charter One Foundation, the owners received assistance and resources to help create their pop-up locations as well as favorable rent terms during the pop-ups.
Love Travels Imports is open Wednesdays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. It will host special events such as trunk shows highlighting a different country on the African continent and, on Tuesday mornings, will help women accessorize their own clothing with fair trade items in the store.
Anahata Yoga offers five different yoga classes seven days a week on a drop-in or class-pack basis. Senior and student discounts are available.
